Tom is in his final year as a returning student to Fresno State, majoring in music education with an emphasis in percussion and minoring in theatre arts. In the area of percussion, Tom has teaching experience with Fresno area schools and organizations including Tulare Union High School (Tulare), Mt. Whitney High School (Visalia), Hoover High School (Fresno), Bullard High School (Fresno), Modesto Fever Drum and Bugle Corps, and Propel Percussion. Currently Tom is the Caption head for the Sacramento Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps.

Tom is in his 6th year working with the Fresno State Drumline. Tom has performed in the Fresno State Wind Orchestra for 7 years and has served as the principle percussionist. He has also performed in the Fresno State Percussion Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra in which he was also principle percussionist for the semester. Tom also marched in the tenor line of the Velvet Knights Drum and Bugle Corps under the direction of Tom Float.

Along with percussion, Tom also enjoys an involvement in theatre. Since an early age Tom has been performing, most recently performing in productions at Fresno State. Tom has also studied movement and body mechanics under professor of dance at the university, Ruth Griffin, gaining knowledge and techniques that he uses today in his education of marching percussionists.
