David C. Fullmer has taught instrumental music for 21 years. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education (1986) and Master of Music Education (1990) degrees from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Instrumental Music Conducting from the University of Washington in Seattle (2003) where he served as the Graduate Teaching Assistant to Professor Tim Salzman during the 98-98 school year.
He taught at Utah Valley University from 2000-2008 where his duties included conducting the Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble. He has been the Director of Bands at Timpview high School in Provo, Utah, since 1990 where his Symphonic Bands, Jazz Ensembles, Percussion Ensembles and Marching Bands have earned regional and national reputations for excellence.
He is currently serving as Adjudication Chair for Utah Music Educators Association. He has served as the UMEA President, Utah State Chair for the National Band Association and as Vice President of the Utah Chapter of the International Association for Jazz Education. He has received the Mid West Clinic Medal of Honor, Provo Educator of the Year, UMEA Superior Accomplishment Award, and the National Band Association Citation of Excellence.
